Adventures of a Vagabond Photographer
The Jeep Adventurers! After an icy hike through Mono Cliffs Provincial Park, we traveled due north “as the drunken crow flies” to charming Creemore where we lunched at lovely Chez Michel, visited a funky art gallery and carefully curated book shop. Thanks Kelly and Cara for joining Lucy and me on our first Jeep Adventure of 2012!
On this wild, wet and windy New Year’s Day I’m reminiscing about a similar day not so long ago in hip, groovy Tofino. Surf’s up dude! Happy New Year!
Winter has finally come to the Toronto Beaches. I took one look outside and have decided it is an all day PJ day! Note the festive trees and my lonely Jeep…
As I await my flight home, I thought I’d share a snap from yesterday’s ferry ride from Nanaimo to Horseshoe Bay. The trip was blessed by a stunning late afternoon sunset and I spent much of the crossing on the top deck breathing in the crisp ocean air and gazing longingly back at Vancouver Island. Until we meet again old friend…it’s time to get home for Christmas!
I just got back from my last stroll and snap along wonderful Long Beach. Now it’s that bittersweet time when I must turn east and head back home across the rugged and wild Sutton Pass to catch the ferry in Nanaimo. So long my fair Tofino. See you again soon if I can!
As I await daylight here at the lodge, I thought I’d share a snap from my visit into town yesterday. Tofino is a beautiful, welcoming town, even in the pouring rain! I especially loved wandering through the galleries. It’s not surprising that such a stunning setting gets star treatment from the talented local artists who have managed the impossible - they have captured the very spirit that surrounds you here! Magical place!
The Storm Surf Shop in Tofino is pretty darn groovy, right down to it’s Edsel out front!
